MOVING DAY

Woke up this morning not as early as planned. I didn’t pack last night. Today I am moving. The place I am staying, London School of Economics Residence (LSE), the school is starting Monday..and us guests have to leave before the weekend. Hotels and budget accommodations are getting scarce for the weekend. I tried to change my reservation to stay a couple of more days at the LSE, because the area was fantastic and there were still a few more things I wanted to check out. However, I was gonna cost me..but more important, I couldn’t just make a change, to arrive for a couple of days later. I had to cancel my reservation and make a whole new one. Since the new place is sold out for the weekend., didn’t want to take a chance.

First thing, I wanted to have my free breakfast, that I’ve grown to enjoy. They have this organic plain yogurt and lots of really good fruit. I looked around and picked my man to eat breakfast with. I asked a man close to my age and asked if I could join him? He’s Trevor, from Vancouver, CA. A favorite city. He is a historian and Mason. He had an interesting conversation…the Mason’s did not decend from the Knight’s Templar, as I always thought. I asked why the Catholic church hated them so much and said they were all going to hell. He said its a struggle for power and control.

Ooops, I noticed that it was almost 10am, time to check out. I hadn’t even showered or packed yet. Did I have to rush. After check out, I stayed till 2, because this internet service is so fast. I had some work to do and emails to send and return, as well as check in in the new place was 3pm.

Took a taxi to the new place, Equity Point. It’s in the Westminster area. It’s quieter than the bustling west end. A bit more residential..but nice architecture. Checked in. My room is on the ground floor, YES!!

I’m in a 8 bed room, mixed. This time it’s, as usual in my life, me and the boys. I am the only girl.

There is a guy from New Zealand, but leaving tomorrow. A boy from Korea, One from Nigeria and 2 from Austrialia, that are out and haven’t met yet and one empty bed about me.

There are pros and cons to having a private room or sharing…but for me..I’m glad to be back with people. I don’t like those alone moments. Maybe that says something about me?? Not sure.

Took a walk around the area. Stopped in a little Indian restaurant, for a late lunch or early dinner, it’s 3:30. It was good and only 10lbs, incl tip. They only tip 10% here, because the restaurants are forced to pay the workers a living wage. I feel a little like I’m shorting them. I started talking to this guy in the restaurant,,,what I’m doing here..about my interviews..he’s a newly wed. I gave him my card and .told him to listen to one of my shows about how to keep it interesting over the long term. lol

Walked around some more. Settled into my rooming that evening. The boys are all sprucing up to hit the pubs. I’m gonna stay in do some work and read. Sounds boring? I was out most all day. Late in the evening, I Russian girl checked in. She went out and in the morning, there were 2 above me..a new guy. Life in a hostel.
