Out in the Jungle, Swim in the Cenotes (Caves)

Arrived at Tres Boca Cenote. It’s truly in the middle of thick jungle. Enter in what looks like a pool, but opens into a cave.
There is a banyon treehouse, Chris and Meghan explored it.
Steep entrance into the cave. Chatting about how cool it is and how refreshing the fresh water is.
My favorite picture of the cave.

That’s me, preparing to jump! It looks so much higher when you’re there. I yelled before I jumped, “This is for all the old ladies”…. and jumped.

That’s my splash!
Swimming away. That was fun!

That’s Chris and Meghan, King and Queen of the jungle!

Arrival of Chris and Meghan

Chris, my son and his girlfriend, Meghan arrived late last night. So glad to have them here. This morning went to my favorite breakfast place, El Nicho.

Food is delicious> I had goat cheese and tomato omelet. We started eating before I could shoot the pic.
In the afternoon we went snorkeling. The sun was out and the light was good. It was Meghans first time to snorkel. I wanted to her have a good experience and to love it. She did great!

A Morning Snorkel

The Caribbean sea water is more beautiful than this picture portrays.

I found my favorite Captain Joaquin. Went on earlier morning snorkel. It wasn’t the best of days. It’s windy, with a current and not so good visibility. Got few good pics. I saw 2 large sting rays.

Back In the Mexican Caribbean

It’s April 2021, the last time I was in Puerto Morelos was April 2019. The year 2020 was a lost one with the Corona Virus pandemic. I’ve been dreaming of jumping into the cool, clear water of the Caribbean sea. Now I’m here!

“It’s been a long, cold, lonely winter….and here comes the sun.” THE BEATLES

I came alone, rented 2 apartments for a month and invited friends and family to visit for a week each.

Was tired when I got here, from the stress of all the arrangements and getting everyone vaccinated.

I went snorkeling, couldn’t wait! The day wasn’t ideal, it was windy, currents, lower visibility. Got some pics.

Arrival Day
Snorkel Day. Pretty Choppy as we left
The thing that looks like a stick under the rock is actually moray eel!

Casual Day

This morning, much to my dissappointment, its really windy. Went to pier, very few boats. Saw Joaquín, terrible day for snorkeling. He offered to take us to the cenotes tomorrow if still windy.

Went to breakfast at El Nicho, a favorite. They just opened a new back patio. Orie loves their eggs Benedict. I tried a new omelet but didn’t like it as much as my standbys.

We has 2 breakfasts, cofre and fresh squeezed juice for $14.00 US. From the picture the sauce looks green, it wasn’t. it was so delicious.
