Easy Day and Seafood Dinner

Taking it easy today. Frances and Beverly went shopping

Later Bev decided to do a little gardening

Beverly has been watering the turtle garden
Observing the turtles
The owner/manager of Casa Velero left us some assorted fruit, mangos, tiny bananas and watermelon and pineapples. All was very delicious.
Had a massage on the beach. The therapists were excellent! Relaxing, feeling the cool ocean breezes, hearing the sound of the waves and the local chatter, added to the heavenly experience.

After a lazy day, we went out for a seafood dinner.

I chose a whole fish

A Day at the Reef

Was waiting for a calm day for snorkeling. We went snorkeling with our favorite captain, Joaquin and his first mate, Juan. The reef was deep, so things look blue and darker, but oh so beautiful.

Box Fish

Captain Joaquin

First mate, Juan. He swims around with us.

Puffer fish, he swallows water when disturbed, and becomes a big thorny creature

A perfect backwards roll into the water.
Frances took this pic of a puffer fish, in the face. They turn their back to you when photos attempted.
Barracuda
Stingray, small one
In the evening, we had the delicious Sinaloa grilled chicken. A must on a visit here!

Return to Casa Velero in Mexico

For the last 5 years, I’ve been traveling to Puerto Morelos, Mexico on the Caribbean Sea. It has everything I look for in travel and adventure. I love the clear blue water of the Caribbean. Ive gone to many places and islands in the Caribbean. Puerto Morelos is safe, easy to get to, it’s beautiful, has a coral reef still in good shape with a short boat ride, Has fabulous restaurants within steps of where I stay and all for very reasonable prices.

Puerto Morelos, recently remodeled Plaza, the town square.

Casa Velero

My spot!
I can see all. The turtle garden still has turtles, but not as many.
Ocean view from the new observation deck.
The lighthouse, important landmark.
Water view from new deck
The beach, lots of seaweed this year
