Woke up late, ate breakfast. Set next to a guy from Pakistan and my breakfast partner of yesterday, Nacho (my old cat’s name) from Spain and his pretty girlfriend from Poland.

Went out for a walk in my workout clothes, that Melissa, my trainer in Texas forced me to bring. Thinking seeing them in my suitcase, would encourage me to do my cardio? Was surprised to find it was really cool and overcast. Yea! London weather!!! Walked toward Covent garden, I think? Never found it. Haven’t been to Covent garden, it’s a shopping area not a garden that I saw, in 20 yrs. Wonder if it’s changed?

Got a little chilly, so went back to LSE. Started doing some work, preparing for the interview with Blair. We are old dive buddies, met in Belize last summer. He and a friend, Dan, had just graduated from medical school and were officially doctors. This was their “Ya Hoo!!” trip before they had to settle down and become “responsible”. Blair was being faithful to his girlfriend at home and Dan was chasing the pretty girls. We all had few drinks at the local hang out, Tipsy Tuna, and a couple of dinners. At that time, I was playing music on the air as DJ Red Rock. I was in Belize partially covering “Lobsterfest” for my reggae radio show I was planning. I interviewed and recorded local Belizeian and Reggae bands. When hanging out with Blair and Dan, I told them about the need in young people and baby boomers need information on sexual health and I was trying to get a talk radio on that topic. It was a lot of work just to get it approvedn through the station hierarcy. It’d never been done at our radio station, KSYM, or in my city of San Antonio…probably never in Texas. However, Night Moves came to fruition. That is my purpose today..to interview Blair.

This afternoon Blair is coming by and were going to do an interview about his role of a physician in Britons National Health Service. Do doctors screen for sexual dysfunction? When the patient has the diagnosis that cause erectile dysfunction. I also plan to ask questions of Sexuality in the Millennial Generation. Another attempt to peek under the sheets in London.

Blair appeared at my door of LSE, late but very welcome. After a quick catch up on the past year, we preceded with the interview. I asked about his role in the national health service (NHS) ( its the UK government run universal coverage heath care..like of like Medicare for All or single payer option that we had the opportunity to get in pass country), how much training do doctors get in regard to sexual dysfunction or sexual screening.

We moved to a discussion of sexuality in the Millennial generation in the UK ( young people that came of age during the change of the century, 2000. They don’t use that name here for that generation. They do use baby boomer generation. Students get comprehensive sexual education at school beginning at about age 12, and through 13, 14. His parents did not need to do much sex education with him because the school education is thorough.

We discussed safe sex, he said it’s not consistent and seems to be related to class or educational status of the couple. More education, the safer the practices. They are aware of HPV, test women for the concern of cervical cancer. They do not recommend barrier method protection for oral sex. They do vaccinate the pre adolescence girls for HPV, but not the boys. In the US we vaccinate the girls and boys…assuming their parents take them. In the UK, adult women can he tested for HPV when they get their pap smear. If negative, they can get the HPV vaccine. ( called Gardisil in the US) Proud to say that I had my first dose..takes 3. Legislators in Texas try to block legislation, especially our Governor Perry…he and those “god and guns” people object to vaccinating our youth for HPV…because it will make them go out and have sex. Absurd!!

We discussed at the beginning of a sexual encounter, does the couple talk before they take off their clothes, on safe sex, communicating what you like and what the woman needs to get her where she needs to go?

He thinks safe sex is up front and the other happens slowly over time… We completed our interview by talking about marriage and long term relationships. What are the UK divorce rates? What couples should do to keep their sex life active and exciting for the long term? I joked with Blair…he needs to pay attention to this part since Blair has a long term girlfriend, whom is a doctor as well. Even more important for them because doctors work long hours, universally.

We finished up, got an update on our buddy Dan, he how has a serious girlfriend. Guess those chasing days or over for now. I updated him on the progress of Night Moves.

It was great to see Blair, catch up, and sure appreciated him participating in my radio show. I walked him to the train station and talked how we want to go back to Belize. Great Memories!
